Yemen Crisis

Throughout the day when i stared at the sky, and the market news i would hear one thing the yemini crisis is pulling down the market.

I have rearely heard Yemen in my life time, needed to use google search engine to show me where this yemen is in the map of the world. well I could find it somewhere near Soudhi Arabia, where most of us are familiar, because of Dubai.

It seems one King ruled the country for long time, eventually gave back power the people of Yemen on various conditions. There are two big sects of Muslims which is making them not to stick together. Shia and Sunni. After king left throne,one Haidi from Sunni sect becomes head of the state on some conditional pact with sunni Haithis.

As I told Petrol cannot mix with water, it happened to break of marriage many times. One day the Shias being very local and tribals took over Yemen, which made Haidi shia leader ran away to a place called Aden in the south of Yemen. Well this south of Yemen is dominated by sunni.

Haidi being good to many countries like Soudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, US, UN , Pakistan, all countries started helping him to regain control over Haithis.

Again I scratched my head why then it is Impacting my stocks which were going down. Its because Yemen sits in a strategic place where there is 1 cm (on Map scale, may be in reality it may be some kilometers wide) pasage from red sea to Gulf of Adn where most of the Oil carrying ships move from soudi to countries like India.

India being one of the biggest Importer of Oils, when the oil startrs shipping less prices of many goods may escalate.

Well got my answer, but smiles came when i heard Nifty went up some 150 points

Festival of Sankranti!

Sankranti which usually comes on 14th or 15th of january for us signifies the festival of cows. The day is also famous for one more thing at our side is the last day for Avare kai. I dont know exact translation of this in English. Probably no one treid to find because its grown only in southern karnataka and parts of Tamilnadu in the border of Karnataka. I really like when this is cooked in the form of Hitakida bele. We still remember whole night my Dad and Mom after finishing all work and sitting for peeling out the Avare soaked in water. Its a nice thing to do that without spoiling the inner grain. After that we used to spill the outer part on the road. That signifies the house has prepared the Hitakida Bele saaru. Its Delicious.

Then Each of the house had a pair of Ox and cow. They wash the cows to perform special decoration. Cows are really nice animals. They are really domestic. They are slow in their movement, rarely defend themselves and hurt anybody and it all depends on the upbringing of it. If it is of high breed they are still slow and really nice animals. Ox with the horns are dangerous and one had to be careful in dealing with them. One of my neighbor died due to its attack.

After washing them they decorate them with all colors, balloons, color papers. They paint the horns with varnish. We used to write on the walls, the wishes for the festival.Even today my writing exist on the wall of my neighbor. I can sense how fast the days are moving. I have some terrible habit of leaving the date wherever i go. Sometime back when i was sitting in the Dental clinic i wrote my name and Date. After 3 years when i visited the same clinic the date and my signature still exist. I loved it.

Then they parade their possession to one common place where they have put fire. They cross the oxen fire. This is done with a scientific background that the fear in the ox shall vanish. Near Sarjapur they started the bull run. Its dangerous than some Spanish Bull Run as the ox have terrible horns and they make the animal to drink liquor. adding to that the Desi Thamate sound will make the animal furious and run hapazardly. Poor people, strong people will try to take the Money tied to the horns but they fail and get hurt. Its pathetic and terrific.

I still remember over the Tank bund children would run with the burnt tires in the night. It would be nice to see from my house Window. I too wanted to join the Joy but my Parents would never allow me to go. Now I have grown up and have all the freedom but cannot do all those things.

Its a first festival in the year, and I wish myself Happy Sankranthi. My mother wanted me at home for the festival to eat the Hitakida Bele saaru, but I couldn't make it.

ಹಳೆ ಹಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಳುವುದೊಂದು ಮಜಾ. ಆದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಸಮಯ ಸಂಧರ್ಭ ಇರಬೇಕು .ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುವ ಕೆಲವು ಸಂಧರ್ಭಗಳಿವು. ಸಂಜೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಲಗಡೆಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯಾಸ್ತವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ ನೀವೊಂದು ಕಾರಿನಲ್ಲೋ ಬಸ್ಸಿನಲೋ ಕಿಟಕಿಯ ಕಡೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರ. ಒಂದು ಮೋನೋ ಸ್ತೀರಿಯೋನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳೆಯ ಹಿಂದಿ ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಅದಷ್ಟಕ್ಕವೇ ಬರುತಿವೆ . ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಸ್ಸು ೪೦-೫೦ ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ವೇಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದೆ . ನಿಮಗೆ ದಿನದ ಕೆಲವು ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಸಣ್ಣಕ್ಕೆ ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಏನೋ ಒಂಥರ ಖುಷಿ.

ಎರಡನೆಯದು ನನ್ನ ಚಿಕ್ಕಂದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸೈಕಲ್ ಪಂಕ್ಚರ್ ಆದಾಗ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ ಅಪ್ಪನ ಸೈಕಲ್ ಶಾಪ್ಗೆ ಸೈಕಲ್ ತಳ್ಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಪಂಕ್ಚರ್ ಹಾಕಿ ಕೊಡುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಆತ ತನ್ನ ಹಳೆಯ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಟೇಪ್ ರೆಕಾರ್ಡರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳೆಯ ತೆಲುಗು ಹಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗು ಏನೋ ಖುಷಿ

ಮೂರನೆಯದು ನಾನು ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಕೂಲಿನ ಬಸ್ ಸ್ಟಾಪ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮುದುಕ ಟೀ ಅಂಗಡಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ . ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ೩:೩೦ ಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಬಸ್ ೪:೦೦ ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು . ಅಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೂ ನಮಗೆ ಹಿತ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದು ಮುದುಕನ ಹಳೆ ಟೇಪ್ ರೆಕಾರ್ಡರ್ ಇಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹಳೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಾಡುಗಳು .

ತಿರಾ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿಗೆ ಇಂಥ ಒಂದು ಸಂಧರ್ಭ ವನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಕ್ರಿಯೇಟ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡೆ . ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಹೊಗೆಯಲು ತಿರಾ ಬೇಜಾರುಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು . ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳೆ ಲತಾ ಮಂಗೇಶ್ಕರ ಹಾಡುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಕಿ ಕೇಳುತ್ತ ಹೊಗೆದೆ. ಕೆಲಸ ಭಾರಿ ಖುಷಿ ಇಂದ ಸಾಗಿತು.

The telangana heat is growing. They have unique ways of protestig. They made the raasta rokos, relay fastings, violent bundhs, railways rokos. The new one is Sakala Janaala Samme. This means all citizens bundh. Till now even during the bundhs the local public transport system RTC would run. But its Now 15 days since i saw the last RTC bus on road. I am a bit worried on how to go back home as not even a single KSRTC is coming in or going out.

I wonder why no one is bothering on this issue. Is it because the central government is following the wait and watch policy or the leaders are not able to put the good amount of pressure on the central leadership.

Today after a long time i saw the KCR and TJAC has met prime minister Manamohan singh. The outcome has to be awaited in two three days.

I always fear if some agitator gets an idea still so many vehicle movement is on the roads and that idea strikes to even include the petrol bunks under bundh, what would be the result. The city will come to a grinding halt. Prices may escalate. Then the governments have to fight hard to bring the situation to the normalcy.

Along with this strike we too got a day leave to the office. Our Human resource department couldnt anticipate the bundh and we had to return half way back. I came back and slept nicely asusual.

ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ

ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಹೊಸ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಒಂದು ಸಂತೋಷದ ವಿಷಯ . ನೋಡಿ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ನಾವಿರೋದು ಹೀಗೆ ಇದೊಂದು ವಿನೂತನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ. ಇದರ ಪ್ರತಿ ಎಪಿಸೋಡಿನ ಖರ್ಚು ಸಕತ್ತಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಕೆಮರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿರಬೇಕು. ಹ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಅಕುಲ್ ಬಾಲಾಜಿ. ಇವರು ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕ್ರಿಯೇಟಿವ್ ಪ್ರೋದುಸರ್. ಇವರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಹಾಗೆ ರಿಸಲ್ಟ್ ಕೂಡ ಸಿಗ್ತಾ ಇದೆ. ಈ ತಾರಾ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವ್ ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇಲ್ವೋ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ.

While facing a tough and terrible weeks schedule the Telangana Joint Action committe announced the 48 hour long bundh. I hope this time there will be less damage to public property. I always wonder why the central government is not paying a serious attention to the Telangana problem. I came to know from the news channels that the city part was in Total shut. Here near the place where we stay the Vanasthalipuram, all major shops were shut but here and there the small pan shops were open, where we could see people buying cigarettes.

We could also see there were few full meals hotels, with half shutter down supplying parcels to the customers where we too had took a parcel of full meals. The seven seater autos were plying as usual with full capacity. There was also an announcement from the auto owners union that the autos will not operate for the two days. But i could see the autos on the road.

I couldn't see even a single public bus on the road. ATMs closed. Here and there we could see people in search of the shops opened to fetch the most perishable good milk. I could see a jammed petrol bunks where other days they were almost free as this area Auto Nagar which is one of the largest automobile junction of Asia has lot of Petrol bunks.

Adding to that people might be bored sitting at home as the MSO have decided to off the entertainment channels. might be forced to see the News channels. We had got a DTH connection from which we could get all the channels so there was a non stop entertainment.

Hope Tomorrow we could go to the office as I have to see the viewership for the two new launches .

ಬಹಳ ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ ಇವತ್ತು ಹೈದರಾಬಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಸುತ್ತಲು ಮೌನ. ಇವತ್ತು ಮದ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಸುಮಾರು ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿದ್ದೆ ಹೋದೆ. ಏಕೋ ಏನೋ ಇವತ್ತು ಸರಿಯಾದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಫೀಲಿಂಗ್. ಮನೆ ಕ್ಲೀನ್ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಆದರೆ ಮೂಡ್ ಇಲ್ಲ.
ಏಕೋ ಮನೆ ಕಡೆ ಸಕ್ಕತ್ ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ದೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಆಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದೆಯೇನೋ ಅನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಬೇಕೆನ್ನೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಜನ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಕುಳಿತು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಸಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ . ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ .
ಮಳೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಲೈಟ್ ಆಗಿ ಸೆಕೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರೂಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತು ಬಾಲಾಜಿ ಅದ್ಯಾವುದೋ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಶ್ ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಫ್ಯಾನ್ ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಕೊಂಡದ್ದು. ಕಿಟಕಿಯಿಂದ ತಣ್ಣಗೆ ಗಾಳಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಾನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಅಡ್ಡಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೊರಟೆ .
